He was born March 26, 1940 in Chicago, IL, the son of Harold and Lenora Bass. He retired from Allied Automotive following many years of dedicated service. Larry also dedicated his time in feeding the homeless of our community through his volunteerism with the Waste Not, Want Not Food Program. Surviving are his loving wife Patricia; his daughter Amber Young of Reno, NV; step daughter Angie Ursrey of Hazlehurst, GA; step son Jerry Hesters of Jacksonville; his sisters Arlene Morrow (Ken) of Jacksonville, and Challys Hickox of Broken Arrow, OK; brothers Mark Bass of Hebron, IL, and Alan Bass of Waukegan, IL; special sister and brother in law Dianne and Leeroy Enterken; also many other loving family members and friends. Larry was predeceased by his son Vincent Bass and his brother Ron Bass. Funeral services in celebration of his life will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, February 2, 2009 in the chapel of Jacksonville Memory Gardens Funeral Home, 111 Blanding Blvd., Orange Park with Rev. Martin Davey officiating. Visiting hours will be held from 2-4 PM on Sunday afternoon at the funeral home.
