Keith Coates will officiate. The family will receive friends Thursday, July 21, 2011 from 6:00 ? 8:00 PM at Kornegay Funeral Home Camden Chapel. Memorials may be made in Mr. Bass?s memory to the American Heart Association of SC, Memorials & Tributes, PO Box 5216, Glen Allen, VA 23058. Mr. Bass died Tuesday, July 19, 2011. Born in Lancaster, he was the son of the late James Henry Bass and Bertha Ellis Bass. Mr. Bass was a United States Army Veteran having served during the Korean War. He was retired from ATEC in Camden. Mr. Bass is survived by his wife of 62 years, Bertha Rabon Bass; his children, Bertha Clack (Danny) of Westville, Jimmy E. Bass (Leah Williams) of Bethune, Joann Sowell (Larry) of Kershaw, Johnny Bass of Camden, Timmy Bass (Jeannie) of Camden, Kimberly West of Cassatt; 14 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren and sister, Betsy Williams (Ray) of Chester. He was predeceased by 3 sisters and 2 brothers.
