Herbert F. Bassett
Herbert F. Bassett, 64, of Newman Avenue, sales coordinator for the Newton Packing Co., Providence, for five years before retiring in 1985, died Sunday at home. He was the husband of Joan M. (Dodge) Bassett.
Born in Boston, a son of the late Thomas E. and Elizabeth (Ryan) Bassett, and lived in Seekonk for 32 years.
Mr. Bassett had previously been sales coordinator for the Wilson Packing Co. for 28 years. He was a Navy veteran of World War II. He was a member of Finnegan Council, Knights of Columbus, Providence.
Besides his wife he leaves a brother, Paul E. Basset of East Providence.
The funeral will be held Thursday at 9 a.m. from the W. Raymond Watson Funeral Home, 350 Willett Ave., East Providence, with a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Martha's Church, Pawtucket Avenue, East Providence, at 10. Burial will be in Mount St. Mary Cemetery, East Providence.
