Bassett Rites Are To Take Place Here
Graveside services for Miss Florence G. Bassett, who died this morning in Birmingham, will be held here Tuesday afternoon, the body arriving on L.N. Train No. 2 and being conveyed to City Cemetery, Rev. Charles B. Carpenter will officiate. Earlier funeral services will be conducted in Birmingham.Miss Bassett was a member of one of the pioneer families of Decatur, the Bassett family having come here in 1887. She was the daughter of the late Major and Mrs. Charles Bassett and is survived by one brother, Augustus Bassett of Decatur and one sister, Mrs. Kate McConnell, Birmingham.Miss Bassett was a beloved music teacher here long ago when the city was growing up.~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~FLORENCE BASSETT -Miss Florence Bassett died January 10, 1944.
