Bassett, 50, of Ellington, passed away Wednesday, December 21, 2011, at Rockville General Hospital.She was born March 30, 1961, in Springfield, the daughter of the late Ernest Sr. and Geraldine (Black) Bassett, and was a lifelong resident of Ellington. She graduated from Ellington High School, Class of 1979, and earned a degree from the University of Connecticut in early childhood development.She is survived by her brother, Ernest Bassett Jr. of Broad Brook; her sisters, Tina Keane of Ellington and Elke Leclerc of Amston. Darlene was a very devoted aunt to her many special nephews and nieces. Family was the foundation of her life. She loved flowers, reading, and had a great talent for writing.A graveside service will be held Tuesday, December 27, 2011, at 10 a.m. in Ellington Center Cemetery, Ellington.
