Rosary for Edna M. Bass, 77
Rosary for Mrs. Edna Maria Becker Bass, 77, Fordham University librarian from 1928 to 1936, will be said at 7:30 p.m. today at Manning & Sons? chapel. Mass of the Christian Burial will be said at 10 a.m. tomorrow at St. James? Cathedral. Burial will be at Lake View. She died Wednesday.
Born in Washington, D.C., Mrs. Bass attended private and public schools there. She studied library science at George Washington University and Columbia University. She worked at the Library of Congress, then at Rockefeller Institute in New York.
After her marriage to Dr. Lawrence W. Bass, a chemical engineer, she helped him prepare nearly 200 publications including a dozen books. They lived in more than 40 countries on 5 continents. They moved here in 1976.
Surviving are her husband and a sister, Mrs. David R. Caldwell, Falls Church, Va.
