Gary Lewis Bassett
Gary Lewis "Bass" Bassett, 66, of Evansville, Indiana, passed away on Monday, April 10, 2023 at Select Specialty Hospital.
Gary was born in Evansville, Indiana on March 5, 1957. He graduated from Central High School in 1975 and was a flooring installer for many years. Gary enjoyed being outdoors, fishing, hunting and boating. He loved vacationing down in Florida and spending time with his family and friends.
Gary is survived by his loving wife of 31 years, Susan (Marx) Bassett of Evansville, IN; daughter, Hannah Beth Bassett-Collins (Crafton) of Huntingdon, TN; sister, Tammy Stroud (Billie) of Madisonville, KY; and nephews, Clay and Eric Stroud.
Gary was preceded in death by his son, John Wesley Bassett in 2008; mother, Dorothy Louise (Wilkins) Bassett Gerber; and father, Henry Bassett.
A celebration of Gary's life will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, April 17, 2023 at Browning Funeral Home, 738 Diamond Ave., Evansville, IN 47711 with Pastor Steve Clayton officiating. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery.
Friends may visit from 12:00 noon until 6:00 pm on Sunday, April 16, 2023 at Browning Funeral Home and again from 10:00 am until service time on Monday at the funeral home.
