Thomas Jeffreys Bass
Thomas Jeffrey Bass, 68, of 722 Neal Hawkins Rd. died Sept 7, 1990, at Kings Mountain Convalescent Center. Funeral is 3 p.m. today at Olney Presbyterian Church, with the Rev. Shane Owens presiding. Burial will be in Olney Cemetery. Ward Funeral Home is in charge.
Mr. Bass was a Henderson native, son of the late Dr. H.H. and Mary Shepard Bass. He was retired from Wix Corp., and a World War II Army veteran. He was an elder and deacon at Olney Presbyterian Church and had worked with Boy Scout Troop 30 for 40 years.
Survivors are his wife, Frances Dixon Bass; son, James Ruppe of Gastonia; brother, Staton Bass of Ellerbe; sister, Mrs. Kitty Griggs of Durham; and one granddaughter.
Memorials may be made to Olney Presbyterian Church, 251 Olney Church Rd., Gastonia, N.C. 28056.
