Miss Emily Blanche Bass Bride Of William Frasier, Jr., Durham
A wedding, charming in its simplicity of detail and beauty tradition of the winter season was solemnized at the Holy Innocents Episcopal church, when Miss Emily Blanche Bass, daughter of Dr. and Mrs. H.H. Bass, became the bride of William G. Frasier, Jr. of Durham.
The ceremony was performed at eleven o?clock Tuesday morning with the Rev. Isaac Wayne Hughes officiating, assisted by the Rev. S.S. Bost, of St. Philips? Episcopal church of Durham.
A half hour of organ music preceding the ceremony and to the strains of the wedding march from Lohengrin the bridal party entered the church and proceeded to the alter, equisitely decorated with white daisy chrysanthemums, ferns, and lighted tapers.
The first to enter were the ushers, Marshall rand, Arch bass, and Gray Hicks. They were followed by the bridesmaid, Miss Mary Frances Montgomery, of Durham. She was stunning in a long fitted frock of dusty pink rough crepe with huge puffed satin sleeves. She wore turban and slippers to match and carried an arm bouquet of deep pink roses and larkspur.
Next walked the maid of honor, Miss Betsy Bass, sister of the bride. She made a charming picture in her gown of French blue rough crepe with long fitted hip line, flared shirt, and puffed sleeves. She also wore Slippers and turban to match and carried Talisman roses and larkspur.
The little flower girl, Miss Blanche Hicks, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Gray Hicks of Wilmington was dressed in a diminutive frock of pleated orchid georgette with a deep bertha, with this she wore a deep brimmed orchid horse hair hat, and carried a tiny Colonial bouquet.
The bride, who entered on the arm of her brother, Dr. Hartwell Bass, was radiantly love in her bridal gown of hammered satin, made with full sleeves, entricately moulded hip line, and softly flowing train. Her veil fell from a snug cap of Duchess lace, wreathed at the back with orange blossoms. She carried a shower bouquet or orchids, roses, and lilies of the valley, with streamers falling to the tips of her white satin slippers.
Following the ceremony, Dr. and Mrs. Hartwell bass, jr. entertained the bridal party and the two families with an informal breakfast at their home. The brides? table carried out the wedding motif with its centerpiece of bridal white flowers, tall ivory tappers in silver holders, and the wedding cake set before the bride.
Immediately after the breakfast Mr. and Mrs. Frasier left by motor for New York. Upon returning they will make their home in Durham.
