Mrs. Linda A. Bassett
August 18, 1950 ? January 1, 2019
Linda Darlene Adams Bassett 68 of Rockledge Florida enter the joy of the Lord 01/01/2019 peacefully at home surrounded by her family. Linda was born in Knoxville Tennessee August 18, 1950, the only child of Mrs. Pauline Bell Adams and Mr. Bill Adams. She married to SSgt Fremont J Bassett July 3rd, 1971.
Linda was a long time resident of Brevard County Florida. She worked as a long distance operator for Bell South in Cocoa and several part time jobs to include: Patrick AFB Base Exchange, Allied Shipping and Moving, crossing guard for the Rockledge Police department and as a volunteer at both St. Mary's Catholic schools and Saturn Elementary school where her sons attended. She was also a key contributing member of Computers Advancing Education which helped countless children around the world.
Linda's greatest passion was being a loving wife, mother and grandmother to her family. She succeeded at those and more. She ran a loving household and was a model wife, mother and friend. Linda was warm and loving and is seen as "Mom" to many outside the family.
Linda is survived by Fremont, her husband of 47 years, her youngest son Greg and grandson Caleb, her oldest son John, daughter-in-law Rebecca and her granddaughters Brooklyn and Charlotte. She loved all of them dearly.
The entire Bassett family is ever grateful for the loving care provided by Vitas Hospice and Alzheimer's Respite of Brevard over the past 6 years. We cannot thank you enough for your love, support and friendship for Linda. In lieu of flowers we ask that any donations be made in Linda's name to Vitas Hospice, Alzheimer's Respite of Brevard or the Alzheimer's Association.
A celebration of life will be held for Linda on Saturday Jan 19th at 2:00pm at Space Coast Convention Center/Holiday Inn Express 301 Tucker Lane, Cocoa FL.
