Ann Basset Lessard
Peterborough, NH - Ann Basset Lessard was born on November 27, 1934, in Peterborough, NH, to William and Doris Basset. She passed peacefully on June 29th, in Peterborough, NH. She married Joseph Lessard in 1960, in Keene, NH, and they were happily married for 58 years. She is survived by her children, Tod Lessard of Keene, NH, and Jennifer Lessard of Framingham, MA, as well as her 2 grandchildren Ella and Zebediah Lessard, who were the apples of her eyes.
Ann taught elementary school for 40 years, starting out in Branford, CT, and teaching 1st grade at Peterborough Elementary School from 1969 until retirement in 1994. Ann volunteered her time to Peterborough residents and organizations for many years, tutoring kids and adults, organizing books at the Kye-Sage bookstore, becoming a member of the local Lioness Club, and culminating with her becoming Citizen of the Year in 2014.
A celebration of life will be held on July 26th, at 2pm, at the Union Congregational Church in Peterborough, NH.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Jennie Scott Legacy Fund at the Scott-Farrar Retirement Community in Peterborough, NH.
