Frederick P. Bassett Jr., '33, San Diego; Sept. 25. A retired public relations executive and journalist, he had been publicity director for the Chicago Opera and Chicago Symphony, a reporter for The Columbus Citizen, associate editor of American Lumberman magazine, and editor of Travel and Sports World Magazine. A former member of the Brown Daily Herald editorial board, he was secretary of the Brown Club of Chicago for many years. He is survived by his wife, Ruth, 422 Rosecross Street, #11, San Diego 92106; and three children.

Ralph P. Bassett
Ralph P. Bassett, 92, of Wilmette, passed away May 7, 2004. Beloved husband of the late Elizabeth, nee von Colditz; loving father of Marie "Tina" (the late George) Stevens, Ralph P. Jr. (Pegeen) Bassett and Ruth (Travis) Haskins; dearest uncle of Yvonne (Rich) Green, Fred (Ellen) Bassett and Denise Graham; cherished grandfather of Priscilla and Trapper Haskins and Jeremy Bassett. Member of Wilmette Park Masonic Lodge #931. A memorial service will be held Saturday, May 22, 11 a.m. at Winnetka Congregational Church, 725 Pine Street, Winnetka. Interment private.
