Sylvia Halstead Bassett

Tacoma, Washington - Sylvia Halstead Bassett was on born February 27, 1927, in Tacoma, Washington and passed away peacefully on May 1st, 2023. She grew up in Towner County, ND and returned to Tacoma after WWII. For many years she worked at Puget Sound National Bank, retiring as an Assistant Controller.
Sylvia was an avid gardener, enjoyed traveling, and loved spending time with her daughter and granddaughter. She was outgoing and made new friends everywhere she went. She was incredibly generous and loved her church and her Savior above all. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
Sylvia was preceded in death by her mother Selma Tinbo Hartman, father Roy Earl Kroll, her first husband Neil (Bud), second husband Ben, and her siblings Roy Earl, Levey, Donald, Leonard, Vernie, Allen, Bernice, Lawrence, Willard and James. She is survived by her sister, Marilyn, her daughter, Marcia and her granddaughter, Antoinette.
A memorial will be held Friday, May 19th at 2 pm at United Lutheran Church in Tacoma. In lieu of flowers, a donation to the United Lutheran memorial fund would be appreciated.
