Oliver Vernon Bass
Whiting - Oliver Vernon Bass, 92, of Whiting, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 20, 2018 at Community Medical Center, Toms River. Born in Secaucus, New Jersey, Oliver grew up in Hoboken and had also lived in Toms River until settling in Whiting. Oliver was a United State Navy Veteran who proudly served our country. After his time in the service Oliver went to work for Alco in Hoboken which led him to his career as a Pressman at the New York Times for 32 years until his retirement in 1990. Predeceased by his loving wife, Gilda, in 2008, Oliver is survived by his children, Steve and Fabiola, Walter and Donna, Christine and John Mullins and Linda and Kelly. Also surviving are Oliver's loving grandchildren, Stephanie, Jakki, Jeff, Brittany, Kimberly, Jenna and five great grandchildren, Sydney, Lexi, Natalia, Briella and Wesley. Family and friends may gather Monday, November 26, 2018 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Anderson & Campbell Funeral Home, 115 Lacey Road, Whiting, New Jersey 08759.
