Fletcher H. Bass Sr., 62, of Rison, died June 10, 2000, at Jefferson Regional Medical Center.Graveside services will be June 23 in Mt. Zion Cemetery near Rison.Further arrangements will be announced by Ralph Robinson & Son Funeral Directors of Pine Bluff.

RISON, Ark. -Graveside services for Retired Maj. Fletcher H. Bass Sr., 62, will be held at 10 a.m. Friday in Mount Zion Cemetery. Send memorials to the American Heart Association, Attn. Pine Bluff Memorials, PO Box 1610, Little Rock, AR 72203. Ralph Robinson & Son Funeral Home is in charge.
Mr. Bass died June 10. He was born in Pine Bluff, Ark. and graduated from Watson Chapel High School. He later earned a degree in Business Administration from Coker College. He retired from the army with 20 years of honorable service, including two tours in Vietnam. He received the Bronze Star, the Vietnamese Medal of Valor and the Purple Heart. He resided in Columbia until 1998 when he returned to his family home in Rison. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge and a life member of the VFW Post #4455 in Pine Bluff. He is predeceased by his father, Percy and wife, Elsie Leona Bass. He lived life to it's fullest and we will miss him dearly.
Surviving are his mother, Ruth Irene Bass Blackstock; sister, Ruth E. Bass; stepfather, "Bud" Blackstock; son and his wife, Fletcher H. and Margaret S. Bass Jr.; daughter and her husband, Pamela K. and Brian Langley of Boise, Idaho; grandchildren, Fletcher W.H. and Lorna M.E. Bass, Lauren K. Martinson; step-grandchildren, Ethan K. and Erynn N. Langley.
