Richard Bass
Graveside funeral services will be held on Friday, March 18 at 1:00 P.M. at Frazier Valley Cemetery in Strathmore for Richard Bass, 89 of Lindsay who passed away March 10, 2016. Rev. David Estes will officiate and interment will follow.
Richard was born in Hasty, Arkansas to Frank and Dellar Bass. He was raised and attended local schools in Morehouse, Missouri before moving with his family to Strathmore, CA. Richard was in his late teens when he was drafted into the Army at the end of WWII. After the Army he worked on Agriculture Farms and also for Sunkist Growers for more than 30 years. He later retired from Strathmore Pac. Richard was an avid hunter and really enjoyed fishing. He was a huge sports fan and loved to watch sports on television. Richard loved being with his family and will be greatly missed by all of his family and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents Frank and Dellar Bass, son Daniel Wayne Bass, wife AnnaBell Carrell Bass, wife Frances McKay Bass, brothers Sam and Earl Bass.
Richard is survived by his step son Mike McKay of CO, three step daughters Pat Tienken of Lindsay, Denise McKay of GA and Pam Benton of CO, sister Devearl Bass Hazelwood of Strathmore, four grandchildren Jason Bass of CO, Toby Bass of MO, Melissa Bass of OK and Ashley Bass of OK as well as many nieces, nephews and friends.
Visitation will be held Thursday, March 17, from 2:00-7:00P.M. at Webb Sanders funeral home.
Webb Sanders Funeral Home is in charge of all arrangements.
