Palu Sloan Bass
Mooresville - Mr. Bass, 83, of East Waterlynn Road, Mooresville, died Thursday, October 20, 2011 at his home. He was born on February 2, 1928 in Mooresville, North Carolina, and was the son of the late Lee Cleveland and Wilmurth Nesbit Bass. He was a member of the Abundant Life Four Square Church of Mooresville. He was preceded in death by a son, Christopher Anderson Bass, five brothers and five sisters. Survivors include his wife Ruth Helms Bass; two sons, Robert Bass and wife Peggy of Mooresville and David Bass and wife Rhonda of Goldhill, North Carolina; five grandchildren, Irene Bass Hinson, Felicia Piercy, David Bass, Jr., Caitlin Obando and Matthew Holland; seven great-grandchildren, PFC Alex Hinson, Zack Hinson, Marissa Piericy, Joshua Piercy, Shelby Hinson, Josslynn Obando and Ethan Bass. A funeral service will be held on Sunday, October 23, 2011, at 2:00 p.m., at Cavin-Cook Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Bob Bankhead officiating. Burial with Military Honors by the Iredell County VFW/DAV will follow at Glenwood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends on Saturday, October 22nd from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Cavin-Cook Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Hospice of Charlotte-Lake Norman, 705 Griffith Street, Suite 203, Davidson, North Carolina 28036, and/or Abundant Life Foursquare Church Building Fund, 119 Foursquare Road, Mooresville, North Carolina 28115.
