Bassett, Bruce J. - Surrounded by his loving family, Bruce Bassett, 58, passed away peacefully on Friday, June 19, 2009 at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre in Toronto. Devoted husband of Julie, and proud father of Hilary and Simon. Bruce's kind and loving nature will live on in our hearts and he will be remembered always. Bruce will be missed dearly by his father Ron and brother Brian. He was loved greatly and will be missed and mourned by his family, his many great friends, and his colleagues at Bell Canada. A memorial service to celebrate Bruce's life will be held at the Church of St. Aldan, 70 Silver Birch Avenue, Toronto (at Queen Street East), on Thursday, June 25 at 3 p.m. In lieu of flowers, those who wish may make a donation in Bruce's name to the Odette Cancer Centre at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre by phone (1-866-696-2008), online (www.sunnybrookfoundation.ca), or by mail.
