Mr. Roosevelt Bassett, on Monday, November 28, 1977 at 9:31 a.m., husband of Mrs. Letha and Ann Bassett, beloved brother of Mr. Willie L. Bassett, Mrs. Thelma B. Henry of New Orleans, Mr. Hugh Bassett, Mrs. Leola B. Harris and Mr. Webb Bassett of Natchez, Miss., and the late Mr. Walter Bassett, son of the late Abram and Addie Bassett, nephew of Mr. Frank Bruce, Abrams Bruce, Mr. Eli Bassett, Mrs. Virginia Bassett, Mr. Dora Minor, Mrs. Sally Banks, Mrs. Evelyn Barannon, Mrs. Ellen Haines, Mrs. Florence Windchester, Mrs. Lucille Carter and Mr. James Bruce, also survived by a host of nieces and nephews, relatives and friends.
Relatives and friends of the family, also pastors, officers and members of Greater St. John Baptist Church, Pleasant Hill of New Orleans, Jerusalem Baptist Church of Kingston, Miss., C.E. Carter Lodge, No. 257, Prince-Hall affiliation employees of Bill Harper Pool and Patio, Barzer Inc., Ed’s Cab Company, Pier Orleans, Quality Restoration and staff of Medical Technology of Charity Hospital are invited to attend the wake services at Estelle J. Wilson Mortuary, Inc., 2715 Damneet Street, on Friday, December 2, 1977 at 8:30 p.m., followed by religious service at Jerusalem Baptist Church, Kingston, Miss. on Saturday, December 3, 1977 at 1 o’clock p.m. Rev. Albert Jackson and Rev. Shead Balwin officiating. Interment Jerusalem Baptist Cemetery, Kinston, Miss.
Motorcade will depart from above funeral home on Saturday at 8:30 a.m. to Kingston, Miss.
