Franklin-Bassett Details
Arrangements have been complete3d and a number of parties have been arranged this week preceding the wedding of Miss Sue Franklin and Richard A. Bassett. The nuptials will be solemnized at 12:30 p.m. Saturday in St. Edwards Church at Granville with the Rev. Fr. Ambrose Metsger the officiant.
Miss Franklin is the daughter of Mrs. Richard G. Franklin, 1596 W. Main St., and the late Mr. Franklin, while the bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Richard W. Bassett, of Cincinnati.
Miss Franklin has asked her sister, Miss Judith Franklin, to be her maid of honor. Bridesmaids will be Miss Martha Goss, a cousin of the bride; and Miss Mary Jane Evans.
Mark J. Bassett of Cincinnati, brother of the bridegroom, will be best man. Seating guests will be Daniel Toon of Cincinnati and David F. Wright of Columbus.
Hostesses for the reception to follow the wedding in the Granville Inn will be Miss Elizabeth Elsey of Cincinnati, Mrs. Daniel Toon of Cincinnati, Mrs. David F. Wright of Columbus, Mrs. William Lonzo of Columbus, and Mrs. Victor Fink.
Parties this week honoring Miss Franklin included a luncheon and personal shower at the Granville Inn arranged Saturday by Mrs. Paul Harlow, Mrs. G. Frederick Evans, and Miss Mary Jane Evans; a cocktail party and miscellaneous shower Sunday in the home of Mrs. Robert Evans with Mrs. Harold Alspach and Mrs. Donn Alspach as co-hostesses; a dessert and bathroom shower arranged Tuesday by Mrs. Donald Logsdon in her home with Mrs. Victor Fink and Mrs. David Wright assisting; a luncheon and kitchen shower given Wednesday by Mrs. George Kinsey, Mrs. William Lonzo, and Mrs. Clark Rader; a cocktail party Wednesday evening with Mrs. Fred Thorp the hostess; and a gadget shower followed by a swim party and dinner which was given last night by Mrs. John Spencer and Mrs. Frank Spencer Sr.
Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Goss will be hosts for the rehearsal dinner tonight in their home, feting members of the bridal party and the families.
