Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday, September 20, 2019 at Hathorn Funeral Home in Columbia for Betty Sue Bass, 82, of Bassfield, who passed away Wednesday, September 18, 2019 at Hattiesburg Health & Rehab. Interment will be at Faithway Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery. Bro. Everette Broome and Bro. Trent Williamson will officiate. Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM until 1:00 PM on Friday, September 20, 2019 at Hathorn Funeral Home.
Betty was a long-time resident of the Bethel Community and was a faithful homemaker to her Husband and Children. She loved working in her flower garden.
She was preceded in death by her Husband of 59 years, Barney Bass; and her Parents, George & Minie Broom.
She is survived by three Daughters, Peggy Nelson, Doris Graves (Mark), Patricia Broom; one Son, Levon Bass; and a number of Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Dustan Broom, Christopher Bass, Brady Reid, L.J. Reid, Kary Broom, and Norman Broom.
