A native of South Carolina, Mr. Bassett was a son of the late James and Pauline Hunsinger Bassett. He was an Army veteran and a machinist with Peterson Spring Co. Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. today at Brown Funeral Home, Danielsville, with the Rev. Patsy B. Hayes officiating. Survivors include his wife, Deborah Ann Epps Bassett, a daughte Crystal Gail Vickery, Commerce; three sons, Timothy James Bassett, Scott Bassett and Jamie Bassett, all of Hull; three brothers, Jimmy Bassett, George Bassett and Woodie Bassett, all of Danielsville; three sisters, Patsy Hayes and Mary Bassett, both of Danielsville, and Bobbie Williamson, Lincolnton; and two grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made toward funeral expenses.
