Lima
Katherine Joann "Katie Jo" Bassett, 22 days, died at 7:57 a.m. June 13, 2008,
at St. Rita's Medical Center.
She was born May 22, 2008, in Columbus to Scott Thomas and Ruth Annette Dyer
Bassett, who survive in Lima.
Katie was a precious little girl. Her parents, sister and all who loved her
were blessed to be a part of her life.
Survivors also include a sister, Lydia Grace Bassett, at home; grandparents,
James and JoAnn Bassett, of Lima, and Joan Dyer, of Oxford; four aunts and
uncles, Steve (Carol) Baskauf, of Pleasantview, Tenn., Susan Snyder, of Lima,
Mary (Chuck) Davis, of Oxford, and Charles Dyer, of Crystal Lake, Ill.; and
eight cousins, Drew, Sarah and Abby Snyder, Carmen and Jessica Baskauf and
Zoe, Hannah and Mariah Davis.
She was preceded in death by her grandfather, Winford Ivan Dyer.
Memorial services will begin at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Shawnee United
Methodist Church. The Rev. Bryan Bucher and the Rev. Charlotte Hefner will
officiate. Burial will be in Lewis Grove Cemetery.

The family would like to thank the medical staff at The Ohio State University
Medical Center, Columbus, and the special-care nursery at St. Rita's Medical
Center for their compassion and care through this difficult time. They would
also like to thank friends and family for their many acts of kindness a
prayerful support.
