He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Evel Bassett. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Deloris (Dee) Caroline; his children, Dick and Cathy, Rick and friend, Terry, Todd and friend, Sue, Tim and Lyn; his grandchildren, Amy, Amanda, Eric, Nate, AJ, Melissa, Trevor, Sam, and Jenna; one great grandson, Dillyn; one brother, Tom and Tamra; several nieces, nephews and many friends. Funeral services will be held Frid 11:00 a.m. at the Georgetown United Methodist Church with Pastor William Bills and Pastor Don Crawford officiating. Interment Floral View Memorial Gardens. Friends may meet with the family at the VanderLaan Funeral Home Thursday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
