Floyd Bass
Floyd Bass, 80, widower of Nora Banks Bass, died January 8, 2010 in Tidelands Hospice House of Georgetown. A memorial service will be held 2:00 p.m. Monday, January 11, 2010 in First Baptist Church of Georgetown. Officiating will be Dr. Ted Sherrill. Burial, directed by Graham Funeral Home, will follow in Pennyroyal Memorial Gardens. Mr. Bass was born November 11, 1929 in Georgetown County, a son of the late William H. Bass and the late Lessie Goude Bass. He was a retired purchasing agent with B E and K Construction and a United States Marine Corps Korean War Veteran. Mr. Bass also worked with the Georgetown County Sheriff's Office for several years after retiring from his previous job. Surviving are one son, Andy Bass (Debbie) of Georgetown; one granddaughter, Ashley Bass Altman of Georgetown; four great-grandchildren, Lauren Altman, Sara Altman, Brooklyn Altman, and Michael Steele Colbert; a sister-in-law, Mary Ann Bass of Johnsonville; one nephew, Bobby Harrelson (Jane) of Monks Corner; one grand-nephew, Robbie Harrelson of Monks Corner; and one grand-niece, Abby Harrelson of Monks Corner.
