Bassett had been in ill health for some time. Dr L. M. Campbell, Coroner, issued a verdict of suicide, due to taking paris green. Gilbert Bassett was born in the town of Leyden, march 28, 1868, a son of John and Eliza Bassett. He had always resided in the vicinity of Port Leyden. Besides his wife he is survived by six children. Funeral services will be held from the home today (Wednesday) with burial at Talcottville.
