Margaret Watson
Margaret Ann Watson Pittsgrove Township, N.J. Margaret Ann Watson, age 73, of Pittsgrove Township was called home to the Lord on January 12, 2018. Born in Bound Brook, NJ, she was the daughter of the late Charles R. and Beatrice (Anderson) Bassett. Margaret grew up in Hammonton, NJ and was a 1962 graduate of Hammonton High School. In 1963 she met and fell in love with Frank Watson and Margaret became a Navy wife in 1964. Over the next twenty five years they lived in Illinois, Colorado and Pennsylvania during Frank's years of service. She worked as an administrative assistant at the Naval Base in Philadelphia but most will remember her from her days working at the Salad Bar in the Acme at Carll's Corner in Bridgeton. Margaret loved quilting and was a member of the South Jersey Quilt Guild. She was also a great crocheter, creating numerous lap robes and prayer shawls and she would make toys for the children in the pediatric wards at the Inspira Hospitals in Elmer and Vineland. Margaret's life revolved around her love of family, her devout faith and her service to the Friendship United Methodist Church in Monroeville where she served on the missions committee and the administrative council. Margaret is survived by her loving husband Frank Kenneth Watson; her son Frank K. Watson II (Susan Kauffman) of Newark, DE; her daughters Christine Maslowski of Williamstown and Carol Watson (Leonard Schultz) of Erial; and her grandchildren Jessica Watson and Kaitlyne, Melissa and Joelle Maslowski. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her brother Edward Bassett. Services will be held on Thursday, January 18, 2018 at the Friendship United Methodist Church, 149 Friendship Road, Monroeville, NJ 08343 with a visitation from 10 to 11 AM and the service at 11 AM. Interment will follow at the Friendship UMC Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that donations be made to a memorial fund in Margaret's name to the church.
