Tommy Bassett

Columbus, Georgia - Tommy Lee Bassett, 75, of Columbus, GA passed away peacefully at his home, surrounded by family on October 5, 2021.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Hubert Lee Bassett and Emmagene Moncus Bassett of Columbus, GA and his brother, Terry H. Bassett of Panama City, Florida.
Tommy was a proud graduate of Baker High School's class of '64. Prior to his retirement, he dedicated 32 years of service as an educator and principal within the Muscogee County School District.
He is survived by his wife, Patty Bassett, his 5 children: Victoria Bassett, Tiffany Blalock, Sam Bassett (Ashley), Shannan Smith (Drew), Jonathan Bassett, and 10 precious grandchildren.
Tommy is remembered for his love of life, family, friends, golf, travel, fishing, and Alabama Football.
A private family memorial service will be held at a later date in celebration of Tommy's life.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Columbus Hospice on behalf of the loving care provided to Tommy and his family.
