Glendon Wayne Bassett
Glendon Wayne Bassett, 85, of Hot Springs, Arkansas, passed away February 15, 2024. He was born August 16, 1938, in Greenwood, AR, to Chester and Ruth Bassett.
Glendon was preceded in death by his loving wife of 63 years, Mary Bassett; parents.
Survivors include daughter Terri Crain of Hot Springs; son, Tracy Bassett of Montgomery, AL. grandchildren, Austin (Megan) Crain of Little Rock, AR., Amy (Kirk) Gober of Bentonville, AR., Colton (Chloe) Bassett, Sydney (Dalton) Dicks, Ruston Bassett of Montgomery, AL.; great-grandchildren, Easton Crain of Little Rock, Lincoln and Chanley Gober of Bentonville, AR.
A celebration of Glendon's life will be Tuesday 10:00 a.m. February 20, at Caruth-Hale Funeral Home 155 Section Line Rd. Hot Springs, AR. with Rev. Don Phillips officiating from Calvary Baptist of East Camden, AR. Visitation will begin at 9:00 a.m.
Pallbearers include Austin Crain, Colton Bassett, Ruston Bassett, Kirk Gober, Dalton Dicks, Brett Hendricks, Jeffery Hendricks.
The family wishes to extend a special thank you to First Baptist Church of Hot Springs, Garrett Woods Assisted Living, and Golden Years Home Care.
Burial will be at Liberty Cemetery in Greenwood, AR. at 2:30 p.m.

Chemical Scholarship Renewed at University
FAYETTEVILLE ? A $1,000 renewal grant to provide scholarships for upperclassmen enrolled in chemical engineering at the University of Arkansas has been made available by the Universal Oil Products Co.
Current Universal scholarships holders are Glendon Wayne Bassett of Greenwood and William King Johnston of Clarksville. Bassett is a senior and the son of Mr. and Mrs. Glynn Bassett. Johnston is a junior and the son of Mr. and Mrs. Joe J. Johnston. Both are active in College of Engineering student affairs.
