Charles L. Van Nortwick
Born: 1934 Died: 2010
On Oct. 19, 2010 Charles L. VanNortwick, beloved father, brother, uncle, grandfather and friend, passed away unexpectedly at the age of 76.
He was born in Belleville, Kan., July 24, 1934 to Leonard and Lucille VanNortwick. He grew up in Republic, Kan., where he graduated from Belleville High School in 1952. He moved to Camarillo where he began working for Adohr Farms.
After moving to California he married Anna Janousek in 1953. Charles was also self-employed in 1954 where he did landscaping and provided weed abatement services. His love for trains and hard work gave him the drive and determination to work with Union Pacific Railroads along the central coast.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lucille and Leonard.
He is survived by his brother, George VanNortwick, and sister, Janice Hettinghouse, and his wife, Anna VanNortwick. His four children include son, Randy VanNortwick; daughter, Delores VanNortwick; son, Curtis and wife Judy VanNortwick; and daughter, Mary and husband Victor Ferreira. His grandchildren include, Chad and Derek VanNortwick, and Jason and Stephen Ferreira. His great-grandchildren include, Isaiah and Gerrick VanNortwick.
