She was the widow of William R. Harwood. She was born in New Britain on May 31, 1922, the daughter of the late Philip G. and Florence (Yeomans) Bassett. She was a member of the First Congregational Church of Southington. She was the past president of the Southington Women's Club, and a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution and the Southington Community Theater. She is survived by a son, Col . David B. Harwood of Alabama; a daughter-in- law, Carol L. Harwood of Florida; and four grandchildren. She was predeceased by a son, Col. William R. Harwood, Jr. A memorial service will be at a time to be a announced in the future. Memorial donations ma y be made to the VNA of Central CT, 205 W.
