Helen Ellen Bass
Helen Ellen Bass, 93, Newton Hamilton, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 1, 2020, at AristaCare at Woodland Park, Orbisonia.
Born Feb. 6, 1926, in Wilson, North Carolina, she was a daughter of the late Jasper Farmer and Rhoda Farmer-Pennington. She was united in marriage to Fred J. Bass, with whom she shared 70 years of marriage. Mr. Bass preceded in death.
Mrs. Bass is survived by her daughters, Jeanne Varner and husband, Ronald, Newton Hamilton; Patsy Batten and husband, David, Starke, Florida; a son, Louis Bass and wife, Vickie, Kenly, North Carolina; grandchildren, Dawana Walston and husband, Jeff, Tonya Holsomback and husband, James, Ashlee Lalor and husband, Wayne, Katrina Walton and husband, David, Eugene Batten and wife, Christine, Amber Anderson and husband, Javan, Jason Bass and wife, Amy, Mickey Bass and Jeffrey Bass; numerous great-grandchildren; great-great grandchildren; nieces; and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a son, Frederick Bass; a grandson, James Bass; a great-grandson, Alex Bass; four sisters; and four brothers.
Mrs. Bass was a professional seamstress.
Family will remember her as a loving and caring mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 11, 2020, at the Kenly Funeral & Cremation Service, 103 E 2nd St, Kenly, North Carolina, with the Revs. LaVon Phillips and Rev. Charles Thompson officiating.
Friends and family will be received at the funeral home from 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 11, until the time of service.
The family is being assisted by Heath-Anderson Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 61 E. Shirley St., Mount Union, "Honored Provider of Veterans Funeral Care?."

ORBISONIA, Pa. ? Helen Ellen Bass, 93, of Newton Hamilton, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 1, 2020, at AristaCare at Woodland Park.
She was born Feb. 6, 1926, in Wilson, daughter of the late Jasper Farmer and Rhoda Farmer-Pennington. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her loving husband, Fred J. Bass, with whom she shared more than 70 years of marriage; son, Frederick Bass; grandson, James Bass; great-grandson, Alex Bass; and four sisters and four brothers.
