  Notes	The Valley Times-News, Lanette, Alabama, Thursday, July 7, 2005 Nell M. Bassett VALLEY -- Mrs. Nell M. Bassett, 83, of Valley died Wednesday, July 6, 2005 at Lanier Memorial Nursing Home in Valley. Funeral services are scheduled Saturday, July 9 at 4 p.m. at Johnson Brown-Service Funeral Home Chapel in Valley with the Rev. Stanley Duke officiating. Burial will follow at Fairfax Cemetery. Mrs. Bassett is survived by two daughters, Brenda (Michael) Holston of Acworth, Ga., and Patty (Jerry) Holman of Wichita, Kan.; one son, James (Deborah) Bassett Jr. of Valley; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Mrs. Bassett was born Oct. 16, 1921 in Tallapoosa County. She was a retired employee of WestPoint Pepperell's Langdale Mill with 35 years of service with the company. Mrs. Bassett enjoyed traveling and loved going to church and was a member of Fairview Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Howard Bassett. The family will receive friends Saturday, July 9 from 2 until 4 p.m. at Johnson Brown-Service Funeral Home in Valley. Johnson Brown-Service Funeral Home of Valley is handling arrangements.
