Johnnie L. Bass
BASS, Johnnie L., 70, of the Fairview Apartments, Bland Street, Bluefield, W. Va., died Monday, May 24, 1993, in a Bluefield hospital. Born in Rock Hill, S.C., she was a daughter of the late Clyde G. and Josephine Hollar Bass. She was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church of Bluefield and retired from Scott & Stringfellow after 20 years of service. She was a graduate of Bluefield High School, was a former Sunday school teacher and a member of the Rebecca Lodge. Surviving are a sister, Mrs. Oscar (Ruth) Neal of Roanoke, Va.; aunt, Mrs. Willie Laws of Statesvile, N.C.; and several cousins. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday at 1 p.m. from the Mercer Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. James Davidson and the Rev. Mike Slaughter officiating. Burial will follow in the Monte Vista Park Cemetery at Green Valley. Friends may call today at the funeral home from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Calvary Baptist Church or the American Heart Association.
