Ethel McCarty
Aged 93 of Kentwood, Michigan, formerly of Saginaw, passed away on November 25th, 2012. Ethel was born in Millington, Michigan, the daughter of George O. and Ruth (Bassett) Evans. The family moved to Mount Morris where Ethel graduated from Mount Morris HIgh School. In 1946 she married Charles P. McCarty who preceded her in death. She is survived by two sons, Tom (Denise) of Grand Rapids and Terry of Traverse City; four grandsons, Patrick, Ryan (Christine), Jon (Karen) of Grand Rapids and Andrew (Lindsey) of Kalkaska; six great-grandchildren and two special nieces, Mary Patterson of California and Patricia Wilmot of North Carolina. Ethel was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Saginaw for 49 years; volunteered with the American Red Cross in Saginaw hospitals and was employed by Tupes Equipment also of Saginaw. Funeral service will be held 10:00 a.m. Friday, at the Metcalf and Jonkhoff Funeral Home, 4291 Cascade Road, S.E., Grand Rapids. Visitation Thursday 3-5 and 6-8 p.m. Memorial contributions may be directed to the Betty Ford Breast Care Services, Grand Rapids, spectrumhealth.org/bettyford.
