He was preceded in death by his parents Walter and Evelyn Bass, his first wife Joan and sister Phyllis Chesebro. Ray is survived by his wife Jackie, six children, David (Dianne) Bass, Daniel (Joy) Bass, Alison (David Flanigan) Bass, Julie (Peter) Gray, John (Joan) Turrentine, Lisa (Ted) Spooner, six grandchildren, Cody, Margaret, Elizabeth, Carter, Spencer and Thomas and many nieces, nephews and friends. Ray loved to be outdoors fishing, golfing or traveling, especially on cruises. The family will greet friends on Sunday from 2 to 4pm at the Metcalf & Jonkhoff Funeral Home. A private family service will be held later. Should friends desire, contributions may be sent to the Kids' Food Basket or the West Michigan Humane Society.
