NORTH EAST ? Elizabeth (Bassett) Crawford, 101, died Dec. 22, 2009, in Wolfeboro, N.H. She was born Aug. 15, 1908, in the town of North East, the daughter of the late Matilda (Glasgow) and William Bassett.
She attended the New York School of Applied Design for Women, where she studied architecture.
Elizabeth and her husband, Morell, who predeceased her, moved to Wolfeboro in 1951. They both dearly loved their home, Highland Farm, on Pork Hill Road and the sights and sounds that each season brought.
An accomplished gardener, Elizabeth maintained her vegetable and flower gardens well into her 80s.
She is survived by her daughter, Meryl; her cousins; and many friends who will cherish their memory of this kind and gracious lady.
A memorial service will be held in late spring/summer at the Water Village Church in Wolfeboro. Burial will be in the Bassett family plot at Coleman Station Cemetery in Millerton.
