John H. Bass Funeral Will Be Tonight
Funeral services for John Hiram Bass, 80, of 1014 Minor Av., will be held at 8 o?clock tonight in Forkner?s chapel, with private burial tomorrow in Evergreen. He had lived here since 1945 when he retired. He was formerly sales and credit manager of a mercantile company in Rayne, La.
Mr. Bass was born in Cardinal, Ont. and came to the United States when a child. He worked a number of years for the J.I. Case Co., in Kansas City, Mo., and Racine, Wis., before going to Louisiana.
Mr. Bass was a member of Temple Lodge NO. 299, F.& A.M., and Orient Chapter No. 102, Royal Arch Masons, and a life member of Oriental Commandery No. 35, Knights Templar, all of Kansas City.
Surviving are a son, Dr. Lawrence W. Bass, New York; his sister, Mrs. Mabel Robison, Seattle; seven nephews and a niece.
