  Notes	News and Observer, Raleigh, North Carolina, Monday, January 16, 1956 Allen J. Bass CLINTON ? Allen J. Bass, 55, died in a Clinton Hospital Saturday night after several months illness. Mr. Bass was a son of the late W.E. and Dolly Hobbs Bass of Sampson County. He was a gas an oil distributor for the Cities Service Oil Co. He was a member of the Clinton Methodist Church. Funeral services will be held from the Clinton Methodist Church Monday at 3 p.m. with the Rev. D.E. Earnhardt, pastor, officiating assisted by the Rev. Norwood Jones of the Kkener Methodist Church and the Rev. L.H. Knott of the Piney Grove Baptist Church. Interement will be in the Clinton Cemetery. The body will be taken to the church one hour prior to the services. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Annie Hobbs Bass; one son, Allen of Clinton; three brothers, Ennis and John Bass of Clinton, Almond Bass of Rt. 1, Faison; three sisters, Mrs. Clarence Sutton of Rt. 1, Neton Grove, Mrs. Paul Sinclair of Rt. 5, Clinton, and Mrs. Glenn Weeks of Rt. 5, Clinton.
