Madison County Leader, New York, Thursday, 28 October 1915
Death of Mrs. William Bassett
Addie, wife of William Bassett, died Thursday at her home just south of Morrisville and following an illness of several weeks. Mrs. Bassett was born in the town of Madison 46 years ago, being a daughter of the late Alonzo Wilber, an old-time resident of that town, and who died a few weeks since. She had lived in this vicinity for more than 25 years. Mrs. Bassett, although of a quiet and retiring temperament, was possessed of those qualities of heart and mind looked for in the consistent Christian. She will be missed in her neighborhood. Besides her husband, she is survived by a son, Lynn Bassett of Pratts, one brother, Albert Wilber of Oriskany Falls, and three sisters: Miss Nellie Wilber of Oriskany Falls, Mrs. Janette Mayall of Stony-Point-on-the Hudson, and Laura, a married sister residing at Richland. The funeral was held on Monday afternoon, Rev. John R. Willis, pastor of the Morrisville Congregational church, officiating. Burial was made in the Cedar street cemetery.
