The death occurred suddenly in the Ipswich Hospital recently of a well-known resident of Rosewood. Mrs. A. Bassett, relict of the late Mr. William Bassett Born in Carlon le Moorland, Lincolnshire, England, in 1863, she came to Australia in the ship Mekera, in 1887, when she met and married the late Mr. William Bassett, who died 22 years ago. Mrs. Bassett?s married life was spent in the Lanefield district. She was one of the foundation members of the Rosewood branch of the C.W.A. and amongst the many tokens of sympathy were wreaths from the Rosewood C.W.A., Lanefield Baptist Church, and Lowfield Colliery. The late Mrs. Bassett leaves a family of three daughters and three sons, 15 grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.
