  Notes	Find-a-Grave Obituary Dr. Walter Arthur Bass Dr. Walter Arthur Bass, 84, Crozet, Va., formerly of Hopkinsville, died at 1 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 27, 2011, of natural causes. A memorial will be in Virginia at a later date, and in the future, the family may also wish to plan a local commemoration with Maddux-Fuqua-Hinton in charge. A native of Petersburg, Va., he was born Oct. 14, 1926, the son of the late Walter Pleasants and Thelma Elliott Bass. He retired as a professor philosophy from Indiana State University. He was a Naval Reserve veteran. His wife, Ann Trabue Bass of Hopkinsville, died in 2010. Survivors include three sons, Walter Paul Bass and George Elliott Bass, both of Richmond, Va., John Winston Bass, San Paulo, Brazil; a daughter, Lee Ann Barber, Crozet and six grandchildren.
