Frances (Bassett) Harwood
Frances (Bassett) Harwood, 76, of Southington, passed away on Thursday, (Oct. 29, 1998). She was the late widow of William R. Harwood. She was born in New Britain on May 31, 1922, the daughter of the late Philip G. and Florence (Yeomans) Bassett. She was a member of the First Congregational Church of Southington. She was the past president of the Southington Women's Club, and a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution and the Southington Community Theatre. She is survived by a son, Col. David B. Harwood of AL; a daughter-in-law, Carol L. Harwood of FL; and four grandchildren. She was predeceased by a son, Col. Wlliam R. Harwood, Jr. A memorial service will be on Saturday, Dec. 12, 11 a.m. at the First Congregational Church of Southington. Memorial donations may be made to the VNA of Central CT, 205 W. Main St., New Britain, 06050; or to the First Congregational Church of Southington, 37 Main St., Southington, 06489.
