Mrs. Gus Bassett
FORT VALLEY, Ga., Sept 28 – The funeral of Mrs. Gus Bassett, whose death occurred at her home west of Fort Valley, took place Wednesday morning, conducted by Dr. C.R. Jenkins, of the Methodist church. The interment was in Oak Lawn cemetery.
Mrs. Bassett was sixty-seven years of age, dying on her birthday. Before her marriage she was a Miss Maynard, of Monroe county, and has many surviving relatives in that section of the State. The immediate family are her husband, Gus Bassett, of this city, five sons, Emile, Homer, Zinnie, Hillyer and Elisha Bassett; two sisters, Mrs. George Zellers and Mrs. Jim Zellner of Forsyth, and the brothers of the deceased are Judge R.L. Maynard, W. T. Maynard, of Americus; Mr. Zollie Maynard of Preston; Will Maynard and Tom Maynard, of Monroe county.
The deceased was a member of the Fort Valley Congregational church.
