Dorothy Bass
BASS, Dorothy M., age 78, of Chesterfield, passed away peacefully on December 16, 2016. She was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Ira Woodson "Woody" Bass. She is survived by two sons, James Woodson Bass of Ormand Beach, Fla. and Keith W. Bass and his wife, Lynn; and two grandsons, Matthew and Michael Bass of Beaufort, S.C.; a "son by choice," Scott Earley of Chesterfield and his wife, Peggy; and children, Megan and Tim; a cousin, Sandra Galliard of Belton, S.C.; several nieces, nephews and many lifelong friends. "Dot" was a Past Worthy Matron of the Blanche Spencer Chapter #11 of the Order of the Eastern Star and a past deacon at Oak Forest Baptist Church. She retired from Chippenham Hospital, where she cheerfully worked as a Benefits Coordinator. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Bliley's-Chippenham, 6900 Hull Street Rd. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday at Oak Forest Baptist Church, 5101 Courthouse Rd. Interment in Maury Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Oak Forest Baptist Church Building Fund, 5101 Courthouse Rd., Chesterfield, Va. 23832.
