  Notes	The Republic Newspaper, Columbus, Indiana, June 14, 1997 Robert J. Bassett Robert J. Bassett, 58, of Road 625S died Thursday morning, June 12, 1997, at Methodist Hospital in Michigan City. He was a self-employed carpenter and a member of Nineveh Masonic Lodge. Funeral will be conducted at 10 a.m. Monday at Barkes, Inlow and Weaver Funeral Home on Washington Street, with the Rev. Vernon Shepherd officiating. Calling will be from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday and from 9 a.m. until service time Monday. A Masonic memorial service will be conducted at 5:30 p.m. Sunday. Burial will be at Garland Brook Cemetery. Mr. Bassett was born in Johnson County July 22, 1938, the son of Dudley and Nellie Gatewood Bassett. He married Judith C. Hilderbrand Aug. 11, 1959. She survives. Also surviving are a son, Robert J. Bassett Jr. of Columbus; daughters, Evelyn "Rosetta" Bassett, Sharon Streeval and Karen Jones, all of Columbus; brothers, Elmer Ray Bassett of Pennsylvania and Gregory Bassett of Nashville; sisters, Carolyn Sue Sanders of Columbus and Shirleen June Shaw of Elizabethtown; nine grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
