      Georgetown - Charlie Clifton Bass, 50, died Friday at Georgetown County Memorial Hospital.
      Mr. Bass was born in Georgetown County, a son of Mrs. Minnie Belle Carter Bass and the late James David (Dave) Bass Sr. He was employed for many years with International Paper Co.
      He was a member of Wynah Lodge No. 40 Ancient Free Masons, and a veteran of World War II. He was an assistant district commissioner of the Black River Boy Scout District.
      Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Barbara (Bobbie) Jean Goodman Bass; two sons, Charles Wayne Bass of Moncks Corner and William David Bass of Georgetown; two daughters, Mrs. Gail B. West and Mrs. Dianne B. Barfield of Georgetown; his mother of Georgetown, a brother, James David Bass Jr. of Georgetown; two sisters, Mrs. C.G. Goude of Georgetown and Mrs. Charles L. Garrison of Charlotte.
      Funeral services will be 2:30 p.m. today at Screven Baptist Church with burial in Penny Royal Memorial Gardens.
      Mayer Funeral Home is in charge.
