Eva Bass Steward
VALDOSTA -- Eva Bass Steward, 88, of Valdosta, passed away Monday, Sept. 23, 2002. She was born on April 23, 1914, to the late Shennie and Mattie Townsend Bass of Valdosta. Mrs. Steward was a retired beautician and a member of the Woodmen of the World. She loved the Lord and faithfully served Him as a member at Crossroads Baptist Church. Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Gordon T. and Pam Steward, Houston, Texas; grandson and wife, Michael and Sheila Steward, Lakewood, Wash.; granddaughter, Patricia Steward, Saranac, Mich.; sister, Montine Abildgaard, Valdosta; sisters-in-law, Willene Bass, Lucile Steward, Irma Jean Guest, all of Valdosta; one great-grandchild and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Shellie S. Steward and two brothers, Archie Bass and Otis Bass. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, Sept. 26, 2002, at the Carson McLane Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Tom Daniel officiating. Burial will follow in McLane Riverview Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until service time Thursday at the funeral home.
