Edward Poindexter Bass
Edward Poindexter (Jack) Bass, 84, of 2440 Hill Cross Road, Charlotte Court House, passed away Tuesday, October 4, 2005 at Lynchburg General Hospital.
Mr. Bass was born in Charlotte County, April 13, 1921, son of the late Aubrey Edward Bass and Maude Poindexter Bass. He was a member of Rough Creek Presbyterian Church where he served as deacon and elder. He was a Navy Veteran of WWII, a retired farmer and cattleman.
He is survived by two sisters: Thelma Bass Maddox of Lynchburg, Bessie Bass Taylor of Charlotte Court House; one niece, Donna M. Wilson and husband Mike of Lynchburg; three great nephews: David Wilson of Surfside Beach, SC, Scott Wilson of Blacksburg, Jason Wilson of Lynchburg; special friends: May Stevens of Brookneal, William Price of Phenix.
A funeral service was conducted at 11 a.m. Friday, October 7, 2005 at Rough Creek Presbyterian Church by the Rev. John Kidd and Rev. Roberta Kidd. Interment followed in the church cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the Charlotte County Rescue Squad.
Henderson Funeral Home, Brookneal, was in charge of arrangements.
