      Born at home in Austin, TX, to Roy H. Bass and Nettie M. (Dunn) Bass Muesel on January 31, 1937.
      Survived by his wife of 61 years, Lucille M. (Dugie) of San Diego, CA, daughter, Annette L. Dahn of Mounds View, MN, and her three sons, Kyle, Joshua, and Nathan and his sons, Thomas R. Bass and Micheal L Bass (Susanne) of Orange County, CA and their children, Stephen Yager, Katherine, Joseph, and Hannah. Survived by one brother Terry H. Bass (Martha) of Albuquerque, NM. Predeceased by parents, older brother Doyle A. Bass and daughter Katherine M. Bass.
      Raised in Burnet, TX, having graduated from Burnet High School in 1955. Throughout high school worked at the family caf, the "Highway Grill," and at the Texas Theatre as projectionist. Assisted in conversion from old-style movies to the "Wide Screen," "CinemaScope," and 3-dimensional" movies. Assisted in conversion of other theatres in Burnet County. Thereafter, immediately, joined the U.S. Navy in order to have a "front-row seat of history." History included: Apollo-201 shot (unmanned), Gmini-8 shot, Dominican Republic crisis, four deployments to Vietnam including the first, which transported the 1st Cavalry Division and most of their helicopters, visits to far-ranging worlds, cities, and ports. Evaluated and accepted new technology for the U.S. Navy, such as GARD (General Address Reading Device), which was the forerunner to many advanced systems.
      After retirement was accepted to UNIVAC to work on a new project at NELC San Diego, CA, which became known as ISABPS (Integrated Submarine Automated Broadcast Processing System). System was conceived, designed, developed, and deployed in an unheard-of 18 months. Next 23 years, he worked on the same project but with different companies; SAIC, UNISYS, SDC, PARAMAX, and finally retiring with Lockheed Martin.
      Viewing will be at Clairemont Mortuary at 4 pm on Thursday, December 16th.
      Funeral Services will be held at Miramar National Cemetery at 2 pm on Friday, December 17th, with military honors.
